One of Kerala’s leading healthcare institutions, Caritas Hospital, is completing 65 years of dedicated service. Established in 1962, Caritas Hospital provides quality healthcare to around 7 lakh patients every year. More than 300 doctors and 3,000 employees serve across 43 specialized departments. The 24-hour Emergency Department continues to provide hope and timely care to thousands of patients in critical situations.
To extend Caritas’ healthcare services to more people, four satellite hospitals are operating across Kottayam district – Caritas Family Hospital at Kalathipady, Caritas HDP Hospital at Kaipuzha, Caritas KMM Hospital at Puthanangady, and Caritas Matha Hospital at Thellakom.
Having achieved several milestones in the field of healthcare, Caritas Hospital has successfully completed more than 57,000 interventional cardiology procedures, 100,000 endoscopies, 50,000 colonoscopies, 5,000 specialized procedures, 10,000 EEG and NCS/EMG examinations, and 5,000 neurosurgeries to date. With more than 45 advanced dialysis machines, the hospital also performs over 50,000 dialysis sessions every year.
Caritas Hospital has also made significant contributions to the field of healthcare education. The College of Nursing and College of Pharmacy in Kottayam are institutions dedicated to preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals. The College of Pharmacy has been awarded ISO 21001:2018 certification.
